Board Member - Alberto Cruz
Alberto O. Cruz. P.E. has over thirteen years experience in infrastructure and airport improvement design projects and construction administration, including plan preparation, cost estimating, and specification writing. His work in aviation includes services for air carrier and general aviation airports. He also has extensive field construction experience as a resident engineer responsible for numerous runway and taxiway reconstruction and extension projects.
Alberto has been project manager and design engineer for numerous multi-million dollar contracts for the City and County of San Francisco, Airport Commission. He began his aviation engineering career in 1996 at the San Francisco International Airport where he was an in-house engineer for the City and County of San Francisco for over 11 years. Past projects include the design and construction of runways, taxiways, terminal aprons, and service roadways. His design experience includes storm sewer and drainage systems, pavement design, and airfield lighting.
As a project manager, design, and resident engineer Alberto’s responsibilities include construction project management, supervising material testing, construction inspection, and FAA and governmental agency coordination. Alberto is also responsible for the preparation of plans, specifications, and bidding documents. His construction administration experience gives him a good understanding of construction specifications and FAA guidelines.
He is currently working at the Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, California as the Airport Engineer.
