Board Member - Bernice Maldonado
Bernice Maldonado is a Strategic Projects Manager for Southern California Edison’s Market Strategy and Resource Planning (MS&RP) Group. As part of SCE’s External Relations Business Unit, MS&RP takes part in market monitoring, economic forecasting, and evaluation of economic impacts of government policies and legislation on the energy industry. Her responsibilities include managing the planning, development, and implementation of strategic projects that have operational impact on SCE including SCE’s renewables energy integration efforts. She is leading a company-wide effort working with cross functional project team members throughout SCE, preparing recommendations for SEC’s senior and executive management in determining effective long-term management of renewables integration to meet the states renewable energy goals.
Prior to joining MS&RP, Bernice was a Senior Analyst on Edison’s SmartConnect program. Her responsibilities included conducting complex analyses on Edison’s SmartConnect Program as it related to action and issue management, making recommendations on scope impacts to the program, while also meeting timelines, and quality. Prior to Edison, Bernice also worked in the financial and non-profit sectors in various roles including Strategic Project Manager overseeing a organizational change management initiative for a large financial services company, Program Director of a Community Based Organization, and as a Bank Supervisor overseeing Community & Financial Education Programs.
Active in several professional and community organizations, she is president of SCE’s Latino Employees Association for Diversity (LEAD) Employee Resource Group, board member for the Volunteer Center of San Gabriel Valley and an active volunteer with the National Society for Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA) and the Project Management Institute of Orange County.
