Board Member - Charles Claver
Charles Claver is Vice President, Priority Banking Manager, for Union Bank of California, a full-service commercial bank, which provides a broad mix of financial services to businesses and individuals. Headquartered in San Francisco, Union Bank is among the 25 largest banks in the United States, based on assets.
In this position, Claver manages Union Bank's Manhattan Village Priority Office in Manhattan Beach, which serves the bank's high net worth clients and their businesses. He is responsible for managing a portfolio of over $54 Million in liquid assets and $18 Million in loans.
Claver has more than 8 years of experience in the banking and financial industries. His expertise includes areas of private banking, wealth management solutions, compliance and financial management. Prior to working at Union Bank, Claver worked with the Los Angeles Annenberg Metropolitan Project, part of the $500 Million school reform effort funded by former Ambassador and Philanthropist Walter Annenberg.
Active in his community, Claver currently serves on numerous boards such as the Rio Hondo Symphony, Advisory Board Chair of the Hispanic Outreach Taskforce, Whittier Cultural Arts Foundation, The Whittier Conservancy, and is Treasurer of the California Hispanic Corporate Council Leadership Institute, a nonprofit professional membership organization. Claver also is a mentor with the Los Angeles based Fulfillment Fund, which matches professionals with high school students in the Los Angeles Unified School District.
Claver graduated from the University of Southern California, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science & International Relations. Claver has lived in Washington D.C. working with the Mexican Embassy, and also in Madrid, Spain studying at the Universidad Cumpletense.
