Board Member - Marcela Bailey
Marcela Bailey is the Vice President and Divisional CIO for Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, a multi-billion dollar division of Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) . In her current role, Marcela oversees the Global Information Technology (IT) strategy and direction that supports and enables the Home Entertainment business operations, including Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Distribution, Finance and Digital functions.
Marcela has over 20 years of entertainment industry experience at SPE, holding various management and leadership roles in Accounting, Customer Service, Sales, and Operations, and IT. Her rich experience in tactical execution, management processes and strategic planning has lead to her heading many strategic initiatives, company projects, start ups, and departments. Marcela's strategic vision, aligning business and IT, integrating business processes with technology, continues to provide direction for Sony's Home Entertainment and the IT organization. Her vision is to evolve the IT group's strength as an integrated and collaborative global team to provide innovative methods of adopting and adapting technology towards the attainment of the SPHE Division's strategic initiatives. With the tight IT/Business alignment in place, Marcela's team has been able to repeatedly provide high value, quality and delivery across the worldwide SPHE division through continuous improvement and use of "best of the best" practices.
Marcela holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in International Business from Loyola Marymount University and a Masters degree in Business Administration in Information Systems and Operations Management from the University of Southern California. She is a National Hispana Leadership Institute Alumn and is an active member in the SPE Diversity and Inclusion program, Spectrum. Marcela serves as a corporate council member for the Los Angeles Unified Preschool (LAUP) nonprofit organization which helps expand early child hood education programs for families that could not otherwise afford them. She has three happy and healthy young adults, Alex (22), Nikki (20) and Robert (19) and lives with her husband, Dan, in Los Angeles.
