Board Member - Mike Alves
Mike Alves, a global wealth manager with Merrill Lynch, is dedicated to strategic wealth management services and assists a select number of high net worth clients with over $500,000 with issues on retirement planning, estate planning and college planning.His investment discipline is based on goal-driven asset allocation to determine appropriate risk levels and return expectations. He advises clients on portfolio diversification for risk reduction and increased returns. Most importantly he helps clients review their financial picture in total, managing their investments and liabilities, with an eye always toward each client's goal.
He earned his undergraduate degree in International Business Administration from the University of California, Riverside and holds several licenses with the NASD and California Life/Health Insurance.
He is an active supporter and volunteers for several Non-Profit/Charity organizations such as Corazon de Vida, The Luevano Foundation, The Hispanic Educational Endowment Fund, Hispanics for LA Opera and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Latino Medical Student Association, the East LA Classic Theatre, the Children's Hospital of LA Corporate Committee and the California Hispanic Corporate Council.
Mike Alves has started what he calls a "Latino Campaign" in late 2005 with the purpose of increasing financial literacy in the Latino community by providing public seminars/workshops at universities, hospitals, schools and businesses. He also offers investment products to inspire financial security to individuals and organizations in under served markets.
